Multiecuscan (MES) - PROXI Alignment Procedures

Here are the procedures to perform a PROXI alignment which is necessary when changing parameters in MultiECUScan (MES) that are not represented by Adjustment items (e.g., drop down menus).

First, if you haven’t done so already, verify that your computer is setup properly by reading the Multiecuscan User Guide Page 2. (Installation and License / Interfaces)

Without proper COM port settings, you may end up failing the PROXI alignment. READ THE MANUAL.

Prerequisites

Procedures

  1. Alfa Romeo Giulia 2.0 Turbo 16V Multiair → Body → CAN Setup / PROXI ALIGNMENT PROCEDURE (952)

  2. Click Connect

  3. Select PROXI ALIGNMENT PROCEDURE and hit Execute

  4. Follow the prompts, switch cables when prompted

  5. Once the PROXI alignment procedure is complete you will need to run a few calibrations to remove the numerous warning lights you more than likely have

  6. Disconnect from the Body module

  7. Connect to the ABS / Continental ABS MK C1 (Requires 6/gray cable)

  8. View the Steering Angle parameter (tick the check box). Move the steering wheel so the reading is as close to 0.0° as possible. This can take a while to get exact, be patient. DO NOT TOUCH STEERING WHEEL AFTER THIS

  9. Select the Adjustments tab and perform the following three procedures:

    • Reset steering angle
    • Lateral and longitudinal acceleration sensor calibration
    • Pressure sensor calibration
  10. Turn off the vehicle and wait at least 30 seconds.

    • Disconnect from the ABS module and unplug the OBD2 adapter from the OBD port
  11. Start vehicle

  12. Turn steering wheel full lock, left to right and back to center again

  13. Turn off vehicle, wait at least 30 seconds

  14. Turn on and all warning lights should be gone

    • If not, repeat steps 12 - 14 again.
